Murano glass
Murano crystal often called "Venetian glass" is without any doubt amongst the most exclusive and beautiful glass in the world. Its name comes from the small island where it is exclusively hand-made. This small island is located close to Venezia.
Murano’s special glassblowing process has been invented the Roman glassware artisans at the end of the first millennium and permanently improved and enhanced upon ever since. The Murano glass is made from silica, soda, lime and potassium melted together at a temperature of 1500°C.
This is an unique method of glass making resulting in eye-catching creations with rich colouring and beautiful patterns and shapes, which are real artworks
